Welcome Sara!

Q: What three words would you use to describe yourself?
A: Dedicated, thoughtful, driven

Q: What’s your favorite place to visit in Seattle?
A: I just moved to WA a couple of months ago so I don’t have a favorite place in Seattle just yet, but I’m sure I will very soon!

Q: Tea or coffee?
A: Both! I love coffee and tea. I tend to drink coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon.

Q: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
A: My cat, Pickles!

Q: What inspires you?
A: I’m inspired by people — how people interact with each other, what they’ve experienced that has shaped who they are today, and the tenacity of the human spirit.

Q: How did you first hear about Skilljar, and what interested you about the company?
A: I was researching startups in Seattle and Skilljar caught my eye. After researching a bit, I knew Skilljar was a company I wanted to be a part of. I worked remotely in South Carolina for three years in my previous role and relied heavily on technology to not only stay in touch with my team in California, but also to help train new staff. There is huge value to utilizing learning management systems to train employees and customers.

Q: Describe your last experience with online learning.
A: Online learning is a huge part of my life. I’m currently enrolled in an online master’s program (only four months until graduation - whew!). I recently moved from SC to WA and because of online learning I’m able to continue the master’s program in WA without having to transfer to another school.

Q: If you were going to offer a course online, what would it be about?
A: I would probably offer a course on gardening, something like Gardening: Tips for Beginners. I fell in love with gardening when I lived in SC and have learned a lot about gardening in different climates since moving to WA.
